Reconstruction, or rebuilding, is the process in architecture of identifying the former form of an entire city, a fragment of it, or a single building using surviving ruins and historical documentation to unearth and rebuild it in its original state. Broadly speaking, it is a concept closely related to restoration.
In fact, reconstruction is taking place continuously. Nowadays, many architectural restoration outcomes frequently become trending topics on social media as "architectural disasters." Beyond individual structures, reconstruction is also used to describe the redevelopment of an entire region. For instance, recent discussions regarding the rebuilding of Ukraine's destroyed infrastructure and superstructure also fall under the scope of reconstruction.
The world has witnessed many wars and suffered severe wounds from them, yet it continues to turn like an organism that rebuilds itself every single time.
