Industrial Die Transport Carts for Safe and Controlled Die Transfer

Die transport carts are heavy-duty steel systems used to move press, injection, casting and custom production dies safely within industrial facilities. They support balanced handling of high-tonnage dies, organized transfer between production areas and more controlled die-change operations.

Each system is engineered specifically according to die dimensions, weight, center of gravity, loading method, floor conditions, maneuvering area and frequency of use.

What Is a Die Transport Cart?

A die transport cart is a wheeled, forklift-compatible or modular steel handling system used to move heavy production dies safely between presses, storage areas, maintenance zones and production lines.

Depending on project requirements, the system may include:

  • Reinforced steel-profile supporting frame
  • Sheet-metal, grating or roller platform
  • Heavy-duty wheels
  • Fixed, swivel or braked wheel groups
  • Forklift pockets
  • Pulling and steering handles
  • Die-fixing and centering elements
  • Side supports and mechanical stops
  • Lifting lugs
  • Modular bolted connections

Advantages of Die Transport Carts

Handle High-Tonnage Dies Safely

Support die weight in a balanced manner for controlled movement between production areas.

Help Reduce Die-Change Time

Make transfer between presses, maintenance zones and storage areas more organized.

Reduce Tipping and Sliding Risks

Custom supports, stops and fixing elements help keep the die stable during movement.

Improve Maneuverability

Swivel wheels, steering handles and suitable frame geometry provide controlled movement in confined production areas.

Support Forklift and Crane Use

Forklift pockets and lifting lugs facilitate loading, unloading and positioning.

Adapt to Different Dies and Modifications

The cart can be reinforced, extended or rearranged when die dimensions or capacity requirements change.

Types of Die Transport Carts

Manual Die Transport Carts

Used with pushing or pulling handles for short-distance movement within the facility.

Forklift-Compatible Die Carts

Include forklift pockets to facilitate loading, unloading and positioning of heavy dies.

Heavy-Duty Die Transport Carts

Manufactured with reinforced profiles, platforms and wheels for high-tonnage press, injection and casting dies.

Roller-Top Die Transport Carts

Use a roller platform to facilitate horizontal transfer between the cart, press and storage rack.

Modular Die Transport Carts

Use removable connections to adapt to different die dimensions and transfer scenarios.

Custom-Designed Die Carts

Developed specifically for weight, geometry or site conditions where standard solutions are insufficient.

Key Design Considerations

  • Die dimensions and total weight
  • Center of gravity and load distribution
  • Platform dimensions and capacity
  • Die support and fixing points
  • Wheel diameter, material and quantity
  • Fixed, swivel and braked wheel arrangement
  • Floor structure, slope and surface irregularities
  • Press, rack and maintenance-area elevations
  • Forklift or crane loading requirements
  • Door, corridor and turning clearances
  • Push-and-pull ergonomics
  • Frequency of use and operating environment

Application Areas

  • Press dies
  • Plastic injection molds
  • Aluminum and metal casting dies
  • Sheet-metal forming dies
  • Automotive and supplier industries
  • White-goods manufacturing
  • Metalworking facilities
  • Toolrooms and die shops
  • Maintenance and die-storage areas
  • Heavy industry and special projects

Our Production Process

Each project is evaluated individually according to die characteristics, transfer route and site conditions.

1. Technical Assessment and Requirements Analysis

Die dimensions, weight, frequency of use, loading method, transfer route and floor conditions are evaluated.

2. System Design

Frame geometry, profile sections, platform structure, wheel arrangement, forklift pockets, rollers and die-fixing points are determined. Technical drawings are prepared.

3. Manufacturing

Steel profiles, sheet metal, rollers, wheel connections and auxiliary components are cut, machined and welded according to project dimensions.

4. Surface Treatment and Inspection

Electrostatic powder coating, wet paint, galvanizing or protective coating is applied. Dimensions, welds, platform and wheel connections are inspected.

5. Testing and Movement Inspection

Wheel movement, braking system, maneuverability, die placement, stops and forklift pockets are checked.

6. Shipment and Site Handover

The die transport cart is delivered, and final adjustments, fixing components and site-compatibility checks are completed.

Die Transport Cart Modification and Reinforcement

Existing die transport carts may develop profile deformation, weld cracks, wheel wear, brake failure, corrosion or platform damage over time. Heavier dies or changes to the transfer route may also require modification.

Following a technical inspection, the following works may be carried out:

  • Supporting-profile reinforcement
  • Platform-surface renewal
  • Wheel and braking-system replacement
  • Forklift-pocket modification
  • Addition or renewal of roller systems
  • Addition of die-fixing and stop elements
  • Pulling-handle renewal
  • Weld repair
  • Dimensional and capacity modification
  • Surface-coating renewal

Material and Surface Options

Material and surface treatment are selected according to die weight, floor conditions and operating environment.

Carbon-Steel Profiles

Form the main body of the cart. Sections are selected according to load capacity.

Plate and Bent-Sheet Components

Used for platform surfaces, connection plates, stops and reinforcement elements.

Heavy-Duty Wheels

Available in fixed, swivel or braked configurations according to load capacity, floor structure and maneuvering requirements.

Steel Roller Systems

Facilitate horizontal transfer between the cart, press and storage unit.

Electrostatic Powder Coating

Provides a durable surface suitable for indoor use and corporate colors.

Galvanizing and Industrial Coatings

Provide long-term protection in humid, outdoor or corrosive environments.

Why Nevas Çelik?

Projects are not limited to standard cart dimensions; they are prepared according to actual die weight, geometry, loading method and transfer route.

Site survey, design, steel fabrication, surface treatment and site handover are managed within a single process. Reinforcement, wheel renewal, roller addition and capacity modification of existing die transport carts can also be carried out.
